We’re five weeks pregnant! We recognize that it’s still very early on, so we’re telling very few people in our lives. Personally, I want to shout it from the rooftops, but the blog will have to do. We’ve taken about half a dozen home pregnancy tests at this point (at first the line was so faint that we thought we were hallucinating, but, as you can see, it’s now darker than the control line on the test). We’ve also had our first blood test, which came back nice and normal and pregnant! It’s taking time for this all to sink in, and, of course, we’re nervous since it’s so early, but we’re trying to stay super positive and focused on the future.
R is feeling a lot of pregnancy symptoms already (fatigue, nausea, frequent hunger, frequent urination, sore breasts, etc). It has already become a running joke that every time she tells me that she’s feeling bad, my response is something to the effect of “that’s so wonderful!” And it is so wonderful. Our first appointment to meet with our OB/midwife practice is on December 1st. In the meantime, though, we’re just taking it easy, eating lots and lots (I have to stop eating as much as R, or I will also start to look pregnant). We both feel so grateful to have been blessed with this pregnancy. We’ll keep you posted as things progress, and we welcome all prayers and good juju for this pregnancy to stay the course.
