To celebrate twelve weeks of Rabbit River (and thirty-three years of me), J and I spent the weekend in Chicago. My mom joined us on Saturday, and she took this photo of us at the Art Institute, where we spent the better part of the afternoon visiting paintings we’ve fallen in love with since moving to the Midwest, and discovering new ones to adore.

We ate at the Green Zebra (contemporary vegetarian) and Hannah’s Bretzel (a not.to.be.missed organic sandwich shop), and we stayed at the Central Loop Hotel (small, affordable, efficient rooms in the perfect location). It was, by all accounts, a joyful little holiday.

Happy twelve weeks, little peach-sized Rabbit!

  1. LOVE the pic! Thanks for sharing. We ate at BOTH of those places when we were in Chicago (conference for my wife) a few months back! The Green Zebra was $$ but so very worth it. Yum!
